Naturally, we shot in our own backyard. It’s my favorite spot for shooting, especially in winter, and it’s just lucky that I stare at it from my window while (full disclosure here) Tim makes my morning cup of tea. The shoot was great; the light was beautiful, it wasn’t terribly freezing and the kids had fun in the snow. The dogs even behaved.
The Whitings are pretty awesome. A hockey family to the core, they own and operate the Pioneer Guest Cabins on Cement Creek Rd. Nestled into the woods and right on the creek, in winter they create their own hockey rink and have ski trails literally from their doorstep. And in summer, they can fish and hike up Colorado’s first ski area. The trails by the cabins are littered with fairy slipper orchids and pasque flowers in the spring.
It’s an idyllic setting, in a beautiful place, and they are a beautiful family. Leah, Matt, Owen and Maggie Rose, I’ll see you around soon!
