But many savvy consumers these days really want the files. Some just want them to post on social media and share online with friends and family around the world. But some want the files to archive in their safe deposit box (yes I’ve had that request).
My attitude is to let the client choose what is going to work best for them. So I offer sessions where the files are available a la carte, but I also offer digital sessions. So how do you know if this is right for you?
There are a few reasons. One reason I’ve found is timing.
Crested Butte is an amazing place to photograph, and be photographed in. It’s also the place where you come to ski, hike, bike, fish, play, raft… and not everyone wants to take the time away from their vacation to spend time viewing images. Or maybe you are just here for the weekend and there just is no time. By choosing the digital session, you are able to have beautiful photos of your kids regardless of the time you are able to spend here. But please, please remember to get the images in print. A digital file does you no good if you can’t access it (I’m thinking into the future here-8 tracks, floppy disks and VHS anyone?).
Perhaps you just want to have control to do what you want with the images. That’s ok too, and I will give you suggestions and guide you in the right direction for printing them in the best manner. No matter what, I’m here to help.
And maybe, you just want them to put in your safe deposit box.
